Moriches sits along Moriches Bay on the South Shore, with Montauk Highway running through as the main road. This part of Suffolk feels quieter and more rural than the busy middle of the island. It also has no active train station. Center Moriches lost its LIRR stop in 1998, when about five people a day were still using it.
